TREATMENT

1

A child's guidance counselor or educator recognizes a mental health need and takes steps to help a child or teen find help.

2

The Sponsor or Caregiver discusses the child's issues and situation with a therapist and submits a Letter of Recommendation to Bluebird Awards.

3

When Bluebird Awards confirms elibiblity and available funding, the therapist is then connected with the child.

4

The child uses an app on their phone to communicate with the therapist.*

5

The therapist continues to interact with the child over text, phone, and video.

6

Generally the therapist will not share what is discussed in therapy; however, they will alert the Sponsor or Caregiver if an intervention is required.

* Each case is subject to modfication.

Bluebird Award's primary objective with the Bluebirds for Kids program is to provide mental health support to uninsured Covid orphans.

We enable communication channels, such as chat, messaging, video conferencing, phone consultations, and personal meetings with local therapists, to ensure we provide comprehensive assistance to children and youth who need it the most during these post-pandemic difficult times.
