Our Primary Mission
In the last five years, there has been a significant increase in school shootings in the United States. In 2023, there were 346 school shooting incidents across the United States1. This marked the highest total on record since at least 1966, averaging nearly one incident every day1.. This marked a substantial rise compared to previous years. Overall, the number of school shootings has been alarmingly high, reflecting a concerning trend in school safety1.
Unmasking the Typical Perpetrator
"As opposed to most mass shooters, these perpetrators (school shooters) tend to be younger males who are often nihilistic, empty, angry, feel rejected by society, blame society for their rejection, and harbor a strong desire for notoriety. They want to make their mark on the world that will elevate them to the status they believe they are entitled to and deserve."
... Ragy Girgis, MD, associate professor of clinical psychiatry, Columbia University.
Inspire Change: Engage Every Student
At Bluebird Awards, we believe in the transformative power of empathy and preventive measures to foster a positive mental attitude among all students. By promoting social-emotional learning, peer support, and mindfulness, we strive to help students build resilience and deep empathy for one another. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment that reduces feelings of isolation, addresses the root causes of aggression, and enhances school safety. We are dedicated to transforming the culture of the student body to reflect these values, with the hope of reaching and positively influencing those who may be struggling.
Transforming Student Culture through Speaker Services
Our motivational speeches are tailored for children and youth. These powerful talks inspire and uplift, encouraging individuals to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams. Our speakers share personal stories, valuable insights, and practical advice, igniting hope and determination in the audience. Delivered to all levels of pre-college audiences, our experienced speakers transform perspectives, boost confidence, and foster a positive mindset. They empower listeners to take meaningful action in their lives by helping them find that special passion and purpose.
Our focus is in presenting three positive messages:
PMA
A Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) refers to maintaining a positive and optimistic mindset.
Encouraging a positive mental attitude in children can contribute to their overall mental and physical well-being, helping them navigate life’s challenges more effectively. A believing anything is possible mindset determines much of who we become.
Gratitude and Compassion
When we take the time to understand and connect with others, we open ourselves up to a world of happiness. By putting ourselves in someone else's shoes, we can gain a better understanding of their feelings and struggles. And by recognizing children's emotions and offering our support, we can show them that we care and want to help. Together we can change lives.
Be a Bluebird
Would you like to be a beacon of hope? It’s easy! Just learn the speech here and add your personal flair, and share it whenever possible. This is how we can spread our message of hope far and wide. Be the bluebird that brings hope to a troubled child.
