PRIORITY NUMBER ONE: Bluebird Awards primary aim is to support gifted students who are at-risk or disadvantaged by providing them with resources and opportunities to excel.

PRIORITY NUMBER TWO: Children and teens orphaned by Covid-19.

COVID-19 pandemic fatalities include those from variants such as Delta and Omicron.

For Covid-19 Bluebird Award consideration, ELIGIBLE children and their sponsors should follow these guidelines.

1) For a child until age eighteen (18), preference will be given based on their sponsor's recommendation. Each online Letter of Recommendation submitted by a sponsor attest to applicant's eligibility and need.

EXAMPLES: A boy without funds wishes to attend a summer basketball camp or a girl hopes to take music lessons.

2) Pre-college age children can be sponsored by a surviving parent, guardian or caregiver. This typically includes needs such as food, clothing, shelter as well as those in support of learning and activities. Educators, caregivers usually manage the finances of the child and are encouraged to apply on behalf of the child or children. Each application is submitted from an online Letter of Recommendation.

3) Home-based educators may apply for each child.  The online Letter of Recommendation is considered 'signed' when a sponsor vouches for the accuracy of all information submitted. Each child, if able to do so, will benefit by finding ways to get signatures on his/her own if the child is considered homeless.

4) Bluebirds Awards may consider special circumstances, to make awards to non-eligible orphan children and youth.

5) Bluebirds Awards may consider special circumstances, to make awards to substance abuse children and youth.
