Kindness = Accessibility | Kimberly Ocampo | TEDxJCU
Kindness equals accessibility because when something feels difficult to deal with, the act of kindness from another person is either accepting help or giving help is an impactful feeling of mutual encouragement. Barriers can present themselves mentally physically and emotionally. The act of kindness is equally as powerful when accepting help along with the person who is giving help to another. Fulfillment is present becoming a mutual encouragement for both. With parents who are Colombian dancers, Ms. Ocampo learned from a young age how to feel the music. In 2015, she moved to Miami to continue pursuing her passion for dance. Later that summer, while biking in Miami, she was struck by a car that ran a red light, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Now living in Cleveland, Ohio, she is constantly working out and furthering her dance career, working with high school students and seniors with memory loss and dementia. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
